Happy #NationalPeanutDay! Today isn’t just about eating our favorite snack nut (which we still plan to do) , but it is also about being thankful for the men and women who are passionate about growing peanuts. All around the state, peanut farmers are working hard to produce a high-quality Texas peanut crop.
This past August, TPPB invited 13 food bloggers from around the state to come to Lubbock and learn about the peanut industry from the ground up, literally. They started by talking to a Texas peanut farmer to learn about the farming side of peanuts, then made their way to a shelling facility to see how peanuts make their way from the farmer to consumers. These bloggers learned so many things and shared their experience the best way they know how, through blogging!
To celebrate National Peanut Day, grab your favorite peanut snack, and check out these blog posts to get the inside scoop of what these women learned on their day in the fields and their time in Lubbock!
